Once you’ve reviewed the information about your BMO benefits, be sure to enroll on Workday, BMO's enrollment platform.

  • Voluntary Benefits
  • Go to Workday, click My Benefits & Retirement application
  • Select your network status (on or off the BMO network)
  • Click Enroll in your Benefits coverage tile
  • Enroll online within 31 calendar days from your hire date or newly benefit-eligible date.
  • Coverage begins on the first day of the month following 30 days from your start date. You pay a premium for these benefits and any retroactive premiums will be collected.
  • If you don’t enroll within 31 days, your next opportunity to enroll will be during annual enrollment (unless you experience a qualifying life event).
  • Save a copy of your final enrollment elections.
401(k) Plan You will be automatically enrolled in the 401(k) Plan at a 5% before-tax payroll contribution following 30 days of employment.

You can review, change, or opt out of the 401(k) Plan at any time:

Inside BMO Network:

  • Go to Workday, click Pay application
  • Under External Links, click 401(k)

Outside BMO Network:

Go to Empower using your username and password. Or, call Empower at 1-844-SAV-401k (1-844-728-4015).

Employee Share Purchase Plan

Access your ESPP account online:

Inside BMO network:

  • Go to Workday, and open the More Tools app
  • Select EquatePlus – Employee Share and Equity Plans

From Any Internet-enabled Device:

  •  Visit EquatePlus
  • Log in with your EquatePlus user ID and password (Note: The first time you access EquatePlus, you will need your ID number and temporary PIN)

Commuter Benefits Choose to join at any time during the year. Elections must be made by the 10th of the month prior to the effective month  (4th of the month for Long Island or Metro-North Railroad in New York):

  • Go to Workday, click My Benefits & Retirement application
  • Select your network status (on or off the BMO network)
  • Click Reimbursement Accounts > Commuter Account > Manage My Commuter Benefits

Benefit changes during the year

If you have a qualifying life event during the year, you can make changes to your benefits, within 31 calendar days of the event. Here’s how:

  • Go to Workday, click My Benefits & Retirement application
  • Select your network status (on or off the BMO network)
  • Click Log your Life event tile

Your new coverage will be effective from the date of the event.
